Title: Black and Blue
Disclaimer: I do not own Primeval.
A/N: Next in the Kept drabble series. This could work as an ending, but if the prompts continue to work for me, I may write a few more :)
Summary: Through it all, Cutter was there.
-o-
Recovery was hard.
The gunshot damaged his abdomen, and regaining his strength was difficult. He fought a lingering infection, leaving him exhausted.
He was not wanting for guests. The visits were awkward, and Stephen kept apologizing. He wanted to explain his choices, but after everything, the words were elusive.
There were other complications, too. Stephen was legally dead, so reclaiming his identity was tedious. He also had a duty to warn the ARC, explaining what he knew about Helen and the future he’d seen.
Through it all, Cutter was there.
Stephen was black and blue, but he’d never felt better.
