Title: Black and Blue

Disclaimer: I do not own Primeval.

A/N: Next in the Kept drabble series. This could work as an ending, but if the prompts continue to work for me, I may write a few more :)

Summary: Through it all, Cutter was there.

-o-

Recovery was hard.

The gunshot damaged his abdomen, and regaining his strength was difficult. He fought a lingering infection, leaving him exhausted.

He was not wanting for guests. The visits were awkward, and Stephen kept apologizing. He wanted to explain his choices, but after everything, the words were elusive.

There were other complications, too. Stephen was legally dead, so reclaiming his identity was tedious. He also had a duty to warn the ARC, explaining what he knew about Helen and the future he’d seen.

Through it all, Cutter was there.

Stephen was black and blue, but he’d never felt better.

These drabbles are so lovely!

I really enjoy these drabbles concentrating on Nick and Stephen. They are poignant and reassuring. It's a nice way to give them the friendship and support often missing on the show. They were such great friends in episode 2 and 3, so close and connected. Stephen seemed all the more connected to Nick then, that he had seen him through Helen's disappearance. I wish that had remained. Your drabbles do a lot towards redemption and reclaiming that friendship/bond.

Fave part:

The gunshot damaged his abdomen, and regaining his strength was difficult. He fought a lingering infection, leaving him exhausted.

--Never tire of h/c as you know.

Poor Stephen, but with Nick's help, he'll be fine.

Ouch, poor Stephen has to go through a lot physically, mentally and emotionally. Good thing Cutter is there by his side.

Yey! It may be hard, but it seems like there's a happy ending for Stephen after all that.
