A/N: So this is my de-aged square for [livejournal.com profile] hc_bingo. I wasn’t sure I really liked this prompt but 120,000 words later, I guess it went okay. No beta.

Summary: Mitch has no idea what to do with Brody most of the time. Then, Brody turns into an eight-year-old, and things get a little harder.

Title: Family Issues

Disclaimer: I own nothing.

A/N: Unbeta’ed. Fills my abandonment issues square for [livejournal.com profile] hc_bingo. This is the starting fic to a verse I’m completing, which I’m referring to as the Gold Medal Verse. The title will become clear in later fics.

Summary: A failure to trust, a fear of abandonment: you could call it anything you wanted, but right now, Mitch just had to figure out a way to put it to rest before Brody’s panic killed both of them.

Family Issues: A failure to trust, a fear of abandonment: you could call it anything you wanted, but right now, Mitch just had to figure out a way to put it to rest before Brody’s panic killed both of them.

Arrested Development: Brody lacks all coping mechanisms.

Devastation and Reform: Brody's determined to make things right at any cost -- and possibly every cost.

No Comment: A year ago, Brody had been a different person with different plans. Mitch knew for sure that Brody had changed as a person, but did he know for sure that his plans had changed?

On the Road Again: All the progress Brody had made over the last year, it had crumbled without accountability. It was a sign of character weakness, sure. But it was also just a sign that Brody was still the dumb ass kid with abandonment issues who’d been set out on his own far, far too early.

Leaning to Breathe: Brody’s aggressive competition schedule starts to take its toll.

The Last Leg: Mitch knows that Brody has to finish what he's started; he just never realized he had to finish his journey, too.
