Primeval Fic: Shifting Equilibrium 1/1

A/N: I came by Primeval very recently by way of James Murray, who I discovered on the show Chaos. I promptly fell in love with both Chaos and Primeval, and this is one of many fics I have to show for this thriving infatuation. sendintheklowns , who is the only person I talk to who gets my appreciation for this show (and Stephen!). I should also warn that while this show is British, I am very, very American. I tried to make the dialogue sound right in my head, but I have no doubt that I fouled up quite a bit of the slang and I used all standard American spellings.
Summary: Guilt, like most other emotions, is something Nick has preferred not to deal with, and the idea of Stephen dying on his account is almost more than he knows how to take. (Tag to 1.02)
